Alabama football loses to Vanderbilt: College football world reacts to upset of the season – USA TODAY

Alabama football followed up its big win over then-No. 1 Georgia in Week 5 with a shocking road loss to unranked Vanderbilt on Saturday.
The win was the Commodores‘ first AP top-five ranked win in program history, as they entered the game 0-60. Vanderbilt was also 0-10 against No. 1-ranked AP Top 25 teams before Saturday, per the SEC Network broadcast.

Vanderbilt dominated time of possession, navigating long scoring drives to keep the ball out of Alabama’s hands. The Commodores finished with 42:08 time of possession compared to 17:52 for the Crimson Tide.
Alabama also didn’t capitalize offensively despite limited chances, as quarterback Jalen Milroe threw a pick-six in the first quarter and also fumbled in the fourth quarter.
