Kansas football vs Arizona State live score updates: Jayhawks take on Big 12 opponent – The Topeka Capital-Journal

Kansas football failed in its attempt to earn its first Big 12 Conference victory of the season Saturday, during its road game against Arizona State.
The Jayhawks were trying to bounce back after four straight losses. Arizona State was looking to rebound from its own latest defeat. Kansas ended up losing 35-31.
Here is what happened during the game:
Arizona State scored a touchdown with less than a minute left to take the lead. After the extra point, Arizona State led 35-31 with 0:16 left in regulation. Kansas couldn’t score to make up the deficit and lost.
Kansas has taken the lead on a touchdown pass from quarterback Jalon Daniels to wide receiver Quentin Skinner. After the extra point, the Jayhawks led 31-28. There is 2:04 left in the fourth quarter.
Arizona State now leads 28-24 with 6:19 left in the fourth quarter. Arizona State scored on a touchdown pass to take the lead. It then hit the extra point.
Kansas running back Devin Neal rushed for a long touchdown to put the Jayhawks back on top. After the extra point, the Jayhawks lead 24-21. There is 10:49 left in the fourth quarter.
Arizona State now leads with 14:56 left in the fourth quarter. Arizona State scored on a short rushing touchdown after a lengthy drive. After the extra point, Arizona State leads 21-17.
Kansas football now leads 17-14 in the third quarter. The Jayhawks drove for a field goal with 10:00 left in the second quarter. During the drive, an Arizona State player — linebacker Keyshaun Elliott — was disqualified for targeting.
Arizona State quarterback Sam Leavitt found tight end Chamon Metayer for a 20-yard touchdown pass. After the ensuing extra point, it’s a 14-14 score with 0:26 left in the second quarter. The drive took 0:52 off of the clock and went 58 yards in four plays.
Kansas remains in the lead after a defensive stop. Although it looked as if Arizona State might go for it on fourth down deep in Jayhawks territory, a penalty forced Arizona State to settle for a field goal. Then, Kansas blocked that field goal to remain up 14-7 with 7:22 left in the second quarter.
Kansas now leads 14-7 with 11:45 left in the second quarter, after another touchdown drive and the ensuing extra point. Quarterback Jalon Daniels found wide receiver Quentin Skinner for a 30-yard touchdown pass. The drive took 5:08 off of the clock and went 85 yards in 10 plays.
The score is tied up at 7-7, after a touchdown drive from Kansas and the ensuing extra point. Quarterback Jalon Daniels scored on a 22-yard touchdown run. The drive went 75 yards in 10 plays and took 5:21 off of the clock.
Arizona State leads 7-0 after a seven-play, 75-yard drive that took 3:16 off of the clock. Arizona State scored on a 28-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Sam Leavitt to wide receiver Xavier Guillory and then hit the ensuing extra point. There is 11:44 left in the first quarter.
Kansas football’s game against Arizona State will be broadcast on ESPN2. Brian Custer, Rod Gilmore and Lauren Sisler will be on the call for the game at Mountain America Stadium in Tempe, Arizona. Streaming options include ESPN+.
