We speculated that some of the best teams from around the world would be flocking to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia this summer for the Counter-Strike 2 event held at the Esports World Cup and we were right. Nine teams have already been affirmed to be in attendance, with this either earning qualification from recent performances or simply getting an invite instead.
Following its performance at the PGL Major Copenhagen, as we already knew, Natus Vincere will be one of said teams, and likewise so will Team Spirit following its victory at IEM Katowice. Otherwise, FaZe Clan, Complexity, and FURIA all get direct invites for their dominance in the Europe, North American, and South American regions, respectively. Lastly, for their global efforts, G2 Esports, Team Vitality, Mouz, and Virtus.pro will all be attending too.
There will be a few other teams appearing as well, but we’ve yet to hear who they are exactly. Considering the Esports World Cup will likely be held sometime in July/August, we’ll no doubt hear more on this front in the coming weeks.
