Barely has the domestic club season in Europe and elsewhere concluded then we are already into a huge few weeks of soccer.
All eyes are now on Germany and the USA, as we get to watch two major international tournaments taking place simultaneously.
The Copa America is being hosted in the United States for the first time since 2016, where the USMNT and Canada will battle it out against established heavyweights such as Brazil, Uruguay and Lionel Messi’s Argentina for continental honors.
Across the Atlantic, Europe’s best gather in Germany, with Euro 2024 bringing together the likes of England, France and defending champions Italy.
And after a month of action-packed football in Germany and USA, we have got our finals set on the cards for Euro and Copa America 2024.
In Euro 2024, Spain locks horns with England this Sunday while in the U.S. defending champions Argentina will face Colombia on July 14.
As such, leagues from around the world have curated their schedules to allow players the opportunity to report for international duty in the summer without affecting their own on-field products. But not some of the significant North American and South American domestic leagues, including Major League Soccer (MLS), Liga MX and Brazilian Serie A.
The aforementioned leagues are not pausing during the international window, instead forcing clubs to play through the Copa, Euros and Olympics with incomplete rosters.
