The grill has been turned off, the sparklers have flamed out, and the skies are no longer pulsing with vibrant light. After celebrating the birth of America, it’s time to watch the Canadians do what the Americans couldn’t – play in the quarterfinals of the 2024 Copa America Tournament.
With the first game of the quarterfinals is out of the way, these two teams will battle it out for a shot at the semifinals.
Venezuela reached this point by winning all three games in their group stage by a combined total of 6-1. Ecuador gave them some trouble in their first game of the tournament, but thanks to a red card in the 22nd minute, Venezuela was able to emerge victorious, 2-1.
Canada didn’t have the same luxury, only reaching this point thanks to a 0-0 draw between Chile and Peru. Canada scored just one goal throughout the entirety of group play and that was enough to push them into the knockout rounds.
Here’s how to watch this Copa America quarterfinal showdown.
