Soccer Game Recap: Effingham County vs. Bluffton – MaxPreps

After flying high against Brunswick last Tuesday, Effingham County came back down to earth. The Effingham County Rebels’ tough 5-0 loss to the Bluffton Bobcats on Wednesday might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Effingham County can’t take it too hard given the team’s big disadvantage in MaxPreps’ soccer rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 270th in Georgia, while Bluffton is ranked 63rd in South Carolina).
Effingham County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Bluffton, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.
Effingham County will look to defend their home pitch on Friday against Savannah Christian at 5:00 p.m. As for Bluffton, they will head out on the road to take on Lucy Beckham at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lucy Beckham is coming into the match with five straight wins at home, so Bluffton will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
