OutKick's David Hookstead believes Colorado football QB Shedeur Sanders' shtick is something most no longer find entertaining after a video of the "Grown QB" and Miami's Cam Ward arguing during an offseason workout went viral.
"The real bad news for Shedeur Sanders is that it seems people no longer find his shtick overly entertaining," Hookstead prefaced before saying, "I guess that's what happens after a 4-8 season. The Buffs started 3-0 and then the wheels fell off down the stretch. Winning solves a lot. Losing makes people run short on patience, and it seems like that's where Deion and his program are now at. We'll see if there's improvement in 2024, but for now, Shedeur is going viral for a very strange argument with Ward."
Of course, Hookstead covered the Shedeur-Ward war of words, so he thought it was entertaining enough for his readers to talk about. As is so often the case with Colorado's biggest critics, they can't seem to turn away when a member of the Sanders family is making waves.
Those who are sick of Shedeur's star power might just want to tune out of the 2024 season entirely because Coach Prime's youngest son is assuredly going to the most talked-about player in the country. Again.
After becoming a popular punching bag for leading his team to a 1-8 record down the stretch of his debut season in Boulder, Shedeur wrote a rap song, "Perfect Timing," that got even more ridicule from the public than his play under center.
As Shedeur looks to improve his NFL draft stock, even more eyes from around the country, specifically, those of 32 professional football fanbases, will be on him this Fall.
So if you thought Shedeur coverage was overkill in 2023, just wait — you ain't seen nothing yet.
