The Italian National Team showcased the WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup Trophy at the Italian Baseball Softball Federation (FIBS) official partner Palmanova Village, starting the final Trophy Tour ahead of the Women’s Softball World Cup Finals 2024, which takes place in in Castions di Strada, Italy from 15-20 July.
The tour started on Thursday, July 4 in Ronchi dei Legionari (Gorizia province) before moving to the Udine Province, Cervignano on July 5 and Castions delle Mura on July 6,
The trophy will continue its tour in the Pordenone Province (Azzano Decimo) on Monday, July 8, before continuing to the Udine Province.
The trophy will also make an appearance at the Elio e Le Storie Tese pop concert in Palmanova on Friday, July 12 and finish its tour in Castions di Strada, the host city of the Finals. Mayor Ivan Petrucco has organized for Saturday, July 13, La Notte Azzurra (the Blue Night) in honour of the Italian National Team (Le Azzurre).
The Women’s Softball World Cup Finals will open on Monday, July 15 in Castions di Strada.

World No. 6 Italy will play in Group A and face No. 1 and three-time defending World Champions USA, No. 5 Canada and No. 17 China.
No. 2 Puerto Rico, No. 3 Japan, No. 8 Netherlands and No. 10 Australia will play in Group B.
After the opening round, the top two finishers of each group will compete in the Super Round (July 18 and 19). The No. 1 and No. 2 teams after the Super Round will play for the Women’s Softball World Title, while the third and fourth-place finishers will compete for the bronze medal.
The medal games are scheduled for Saturday, July 20.
