On June 22, two teams from the Narragansett Youth Soccer Association won their Rhode Island Super Liga State championships, which were played at Colt State Park in Bristol.
The Narragansett U11 boys, coached by David Arnaus and Jan Arnaus, won their state title. Their team included Archer Corbeil, Andy Dolos, JJ Geisser, Josh Levanthal, Calder Palm, Marc Arnaus, Zack Oakley, Kingston Walker, Gavin Combs, Nate Woodward, David Carroll, Asa Shafer, Ethan Bi and Pedro Fernandes.
The Narragansett U16 girls, coached by Bryan DeAngelis, Jackie Annino and Jen Whitworth, won their title as well. Their team includes: Alexandra Howell, Jacqueline Salvadore, Cassidy O’Neill, Emma Annino, Hayley DeAngelis, Olivia Furia, Anabella Radom, Julia Donadio, Caroline Quilliam, Tanzi Schroeder-Rondeau, Keara Maynard, Lily Furia, Danielle Whitworth, Sarah Greenberg, Abigail Zelenak, Maeve Johnson, Samantha Flynn and Lydon Richard.
Ocean State North Kingstown’s 2011 boys team also won a Super Liga title.
Shortly after the successful season ended, the Narragansett Youth Soccer Association officially elected Peter Duggan as its next president, which he began on Monday. Duggan, who only joined the organization about a year ago, has plenty of experience in the youth coaching ranks and has made his extremely ambitious yet realistic goals for the organization known. Since coming in last fall, he’s helped introduce new programs, such as the first of what will become an annual scholarship fund for high school seniors.
