The stage for the 2030 FIFA World Cup Final could be set at the newly-renovated Estadio Santiago Bernabéu in Madrid, Spain. According to a report from Spanish sports daily MARCA, negotiations are underway between FIFA and Real Madrid regarding the stadium’s use and availability.
A sticking point appears to be the duration of FIFA’s occupancy. The report suggests the global football governing body would require the Bernabéu for logistical purposes for a period of around three months, a significant ask that Real Madrid is currently considering.
However, the report also highlights a positive working relationship between FIFA and Real Madrid, potentially smoothing the path for a deal. While Spain will share hosting duties with Portugal, Morocco, and potentially Argentina, Uruguay, and Brazil, FIFA seems intent on the Santiago Bernabéu serving as the crown jewel of the tournament, hosting the most prestigious match – the World Cup Final.
