OXFORD, Miss. — Three Ole Miss football Class of 2025 commits decommitted Monday as four-star wide receiver Jerome Myles, three-star linebacker Corey Amos, and four-star wide receiver Dillon Alfred each made their respective announcements on social media.

The 6-foot-3, 190 pound Myles, the top prospect in the state of Utah, committed to the Rebels right after his first official visit in April. As is always the case, many schools continued their pursuit of the Utah native, including Texas A&M this past weekend. Reports indicate he has a visit scheduled to Michigan when the dead period ends and also took one to in-state Utah.
Saraland, Alabama’s Alfred is the No. 17 overall player in the state of Alabama’s 2025 class, according to 247Sports. He’s originally from Gautier, Miss., and he attended high school there through his sophomore season. That sophomore year at Gautier saw the 6-foot, 180-pound Alfred notch 58 receptions for 1,310 yards and 16 TDs.  When he moved to Saraland, he helped his new team finish as runner-up in Alabama in 6A football, catching 35 passes for 586 yards and six touchdowns.
The  6-foot-2, 200-pound Amos, out of Opelousas High School in Louisiana, stands as the No. 30th overall linebacker in nation for the 2025 class and the No.6 overall athlete to come out of Louisiana. He played a pivotal role this past season defensively to help Opelousas bring home its first state championship.
While Ole Miss fans may find the above news disconcerting, the best advice is to sit back and not get stressed over 2025 commits — in June of 2024. The dead period started at midnight last night, but when recruiting opens up again, look for Lane Kiffin and staff to have a few surprises of their own.
Of course, these are three talented players and who knows where they’ll land. But what we do know is that Coach Kiffin is adept at navigating recruiting — and the transfer portal — so there’s literally NO chance Ole Miss and the Rebels’ high-flying offense will be at a loss to replace two wide receivers.
And with Pete Golding as defensive coordinator, we’re not going to worry about replacing any position on that side of the ball, either. Again, not to discount the talent of Myles, Amos and Alfred. They are absolutely all three playmakers. But the larger point is that at this early date in the 2025 recruiting cycle, there’s nothing to be worried about. Hotty Toddy!
