3 people arrested in connection with shooting death of Zachary High School football player – WAFB

NEW ROADS, La. (WAFB) – Three people have been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a Zachary High School football player.
According to New Roads Police Chief Cedrick Epps, the people arrested are Michael Anderson, 21, of Baker; Brandon Bell, 22, of Ventress; and Dylan Bell, 19, of Ventress. All three suspects are charged with second-degree murder.
The shooting happened on Sunday, May 19, on Carver Drive in New Roads and claimed the life of Jonathan Johnson Jr., 16. His family confirmed to WAFB that he was a student at Zachary High School.

According to to police, the shooting remains under investigation. More arrests could be made in the future.
