EURO 2024
The 2024 European Championships have already provided us with a glut of goals and a few markers as to which nations could get to the latter stages of the tournament. Hosts Germany thumped Scotland 5-1 in the opening game. A young Spanish team gave a glimpse of their potency in a 3-0 win over Croatia on Saturday. And we’ve also had single goal wins for Italy, the Netherlands and a much-fancied England side, with Real Madrid’s new Galáctico Jude Bellingham proving decisive. So to Monday’s action, and many people’s number one picks will make their bow. Welcome to Euro 2024, France!
As well as the 2022 World Cup runners up featuring today, and France are in the final game of the day, another of the top seeds – although seen more as a dark horse – Belgium gets their campaign going. Here’s a summary of the action ahead:

The group stage for the tournament runs through until Wednesday 26 June, with the knockout rounds starting with the round of 16 on Saturday 29 June and concluding with the final on Sunday 14 July. You can find the full list of games for the tournament here.
