The Super Eagles will take on Benin Republic in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier at a neutral venue.
The Confederation of African Football, CAF, has ruled that stadiums in Benin are sub-standard and cannot host international matches.
According to reports emanating from Benin, the country’s football association are in talks with their Ivorian counterpart to play the game in one of their stadiums used during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The next round of World Cup qualifiers will be played between June 3 and 11.
The Nigerians will host the Bafana Bafana of South Africa before facing the Squirrels.
The Super Eagles are third in their qualifying group with two points after two rounds of matches, while Benin, who are handled by former Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr, have a point.
Rwanda, South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Lesotho are the other teams in this group.
