Ghana’s group opponent in the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the Central African Republic, has defeated Chad by a goal to nil today.

The game, played at the Municipal Stadium, saw both national teams exert their utmost effort in a bid to secure victory and earn all three points.

At the end of the 90 minutes, a solitary strike by Venuste Baboula in the first half secured a narrow 1-0 victory for the Central African Republic.

This victory has propelled the Central African Republic ahead of Ghana in the Group I standings, with the team now in third place and one point ahead of the Black Stars.

On the other hand, Chad remains at the bottom of the Group I standings, having failed to win any of their three matches played in the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup so far.
