LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – The Team Jack Foundation and the Nebraska Football team held the 12th annual Nebraska Football Road Race. The race includes a one-mile fun run and a 5K run all raising money for pediatric cancer.
For the first time in 2024, the race finished on the field at Memorial Stadium instead of the road outside the stadium. The start/finish line for the races was placed on the 31-yard-line to allow runners to run 69 yards to finish the race. This distance is symbolic as it is the exact yardage Jack Hoffman ran back in the 2013 Spring Game.
The run is open to any and everyone to participate with hundreds of kids and runners joining in on the fun. Before and after the races, the attendees are able to meet the entire Nebraska football team as well as receive autographs and photos with their favorite players. In 2023, the race was also planned to be on the actual field; however, the weather forced the race to be canceled.
