Argentina advanced to the 2024 Copa América final with a win over Canada on Tuesday. Who will face them in Sunday’s championship game?
Uruguay will face Colombia on Wednesday to determine which nation will have a spot in the final, and which has a date with Canada in the third-place game on Saturday.
Colombia advanced to this point on the back of a strong performance from star player James Rodríguez. In the quarterfinal match against Panama, the 32-year-old scored a goal on a penalty kick and assisted on two other goals to help the Cafeteros win 5-0 and extend their unbeaten streak to 27 matches.
Uruguay went to penalty kicks in its quarterfinal match with Brazil after a hard-fought 90 minutes of play that included 41 total fouls. It was Manuel Ugarte who sent his nation into the semifinal with a decisive fourth goal to give Uruguay the 4-2 penalty shootout win.
