Iowa State football enjoyed a terrific 2024 season and have been rewarded with a high-profile postseason matchup against Miami in the Pop-Tarts Bowl.
The No. 19 Cyclones (10-3) and No. 16 Hurricanes (10-2) even got some national recognition in USA Today’s college football bowl game rankings, with the matchup earning the top spot out of 35 contests, excluding all College Football Playoff games.
“Giant toaster gimmicks aside, this is a really nice matchup of teams that can score a lot of points – and give up a lot,” Eddie Timanus wrote in the story. “As long as the key contributors take part, notably Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward, this could be great fun.”
ISU’s game beat out the Alamo Bowl featuring No. 17 BYU and No. 22 Colorado for the No. 1 ranking.
