The third World Cup of the FIS Alpine Skiing season takes place this weekend in Gurgl, Austria.
The spotlight is sure to be on American star Mikaela Shiffrin, who is inching towards become only the second athlete across Winter Olympic disciplines to win 100 career individual World Cups.
With her win last weekend at the World Cup in Levi, Finland, the two-time Winter Olympic gold medallist is now on 98 World Cup wins. Shiffrin only trail’s former Norwegian cross-country skier Marit Bjørgen’s record of 114 World Cup wins.
